Landa trial date set for Jan. 14
A 19-year-old De Soto man will stand trial early next year for the death of his girlfriend.
After listening to testimony from a 16-year-old De Soto girl and the deputy county coroner, Johnson County District Judge John Bennett ruled there was enough evidence for Johnny Landa to stand trail for second-degree murder/depraved indifference in the Aug. 31 death of his girlfriend Griselda De Real, 17, of De Soto.
Brian Burgess, spokesman for the district attorney's office, said the trail was set for Jan. 14, 2008.
The Johnson County District Attorney's Office dismissed a second charge of obstructing justice.
