City council opts out of trash container loop

The De Soto City Council agreed last Thursday it wouldn’t purchase the 95-gallon trash containers Weldon Enterprise will make mandatory for its De Soto customers when its new contract starts Jan. 1, 2008.
FCB contributes for breast cancer

FCB Bank employees in De Soto participated in raising more than $8,800 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in October. Employees and customers from all FCB and First Community Bank locations contributed $4,409, which the bancshares group then matched for a total donation of $8,818.
