Church to have men’s retreat

May 10, 2007

Kaw Prairie Community Church will have a men's retreat Friday and Saturday in rural Eudora. The retreat, open to all men ages 18 years and older, will feature paintball, a camp out, a DVD-program led by author John Eldredge and group discussion based on his book "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul."

"All men are invited to our Wild Man Retreat -- members and non-members, young and old," event organizer RJ Jubber said. "You just need to be strong enough to risk being vulnerable for discussion and tough enough for some friendly competition."

The retreat begins with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday and will conclude by noon Saturday. A registration fee of $35 per participant includes the program, paintball and meals.

Those planning to camp out are asked to bring a tent and snacks to share.

To reserve a spot at the retreat, call Jubber at (785) 550-7483 or Dave Edgington at (913) 449-1650.

Kaw Prairie Community Church meets at 9:30 a.m. Sundays at St. James Academy, 24505 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa. The children's JAM (Jesus and Me) program overlaps with church, and free childcare for children 0 to 3 years is available in the nursery.
