Letter: Clark deserves another term

March 29, 2007

On April 3, we will have the opportunity to vote for members of the De Soto USD 232 Board of Education. A strong educational system is a lynchpin for maintaining a growing, economically sound community. Economic development and property values are significantly affected by the strength of an area's school system. We need to elect individuals who will have a positive impact on our district.

During his tenure on the current board, Don Clark has shown himself to be a person who is committed to schools providing a solid education for our children. Even while the district has struggled with phenomenal growth, academic achievement has improved, class sizes have remained small and all of our children have had the opportunity to receive a decent education.

The efforts of Don Clark, and most of the other current board members, have been a major factor in how well the district has performed in recent years.

Don Clark has demonstrated that he knows how to work with other board members and the district administration. His approach to district issues has been open-minded, and he has always been willing to listen to community members. He understands the issues that affect both the schools and the taxpayers of the district, and he has proven himself willing to work hard to develop solutions that are beneficial to students and patrons.

I would urge you to cast your vote for Don Clark in the upcoming election. Mr. Clark has proven that he can do the job and that he is the best choice.
