Special services director named
The De Soto USD 232 Board of Education approved the appointment Monday of Susan Sipe as district director of special services effective July 1. Her appointment comes after administrators announced a plan earlier this year to reorganize the departments of learning services and special services to be more efficient in a growing district.
Sipe brings 28 years of professional experience to the school district with an intensive focus on special education administration. She is in her 15th year as a special education administrator, dealing with the complexities of state and federal regulations and the compliance with those regulations.
"I enjoy helping to support and motivate educators who in turn support and motivate students," Sipe said. "The chance to work in the De Soto School District will afford me the opportunity to continue my passion for public education."
