Extension agent named
Chelsey Wasem will join the staff of the K-State Research and Extension Johnson County office March 25 as a horticulture agent.
Wasem earned a bachelor's degree in horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a master's degree in entomology, also at Nebraska.
She worked as a research assistant in the University of NebraskaÂ's Department of Entomology and as an extension intern in Lancaster County, Neb.
Extension agents are jointly employed in a partnership between K-State Research and Extension, headquartered on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, and the local county Extension Council.
Horticulture extension agents provide leadership in their communities by developing and delivering educational programming relative to horticulture crop production, landscape maintenance and improvement and conservation of natural resources.
