Willow Springs FCE meets
The Willow Springs FCE met June 15 in the fellowship hall at De Soto Baptist Church with ElFreeda Payton and Leota Fruit as the hostesses. The decorations carried a patriotic theme. Several members were absent because of work, vacations or illness.
Dorothy Nalley gave the table grace and read the minutes of the April and May meetings. Because the group went to Hillside Village, there was no formal meeting in May. Nalley also took roll call, which was answered by naming "Your Vacation Plans."
Members' vacation plans included going to family reunions, graduations or on trips out of state.
Total hours given were 81.
The drawings for the "pigs" took place. Leota Fruit received the pig brought by Judy Hartshorn. Reta Jenks won the pig brought by Leota Fruit.
Dorothy Nalley gave an informative quiz. Ninety percent of the questions were answered correctly.
Judy Hartshorn brought the May forecast fliers and other papers from the extension council meeting.
Dues need to be turned into the county treasurer, Norma Falwell, by Sept. 15.
Willow Springs treasurer Leona Robinson gave her report and paid $10 to the church for use of the building.
The group will not meet in July or August, but a member is needed to attend the June EPC meeting at the extension office.
