Library to offer summer reading clubs for patrons of all ages through Aug. 5

June 7, 2007

The 2007 summer reading clubs at Johnson County Library run through Aug. 5.

This year, readers and listeners of all ages are encouraged to investigate the exciting world of books, magic and mysteries by keeping a log of books read and by attending library programs throughout the summer.

The theme for kids in fifth grade and under is Get a Clue @ Your Library; grades six and up may participate in YNK (You Never Know) @ Your Library.

The Library will once again offer a reading program for all levels of educators and librarians, Report Not Required. Reading logs are available at all Johnson County Library locations or may be printed from the Library's summer reading Web site, www.jocolibrary. org/summerreading.

Summer reading program participants set their own goals for summer reading, record their books on their reading logs, and return the logs to the library July 6 to Aug. 5.

Participants who complete the program will receive a free paperback book provided by Friends of the Johnson County Library, while supplies last. Weekly prize drawings will take place during the summer at each library location.

For more information about Johnson County Library summer programs visit, www.jocolibrary.org, or pick up an activity calendar at any Johnson County Library location including De Soto.
