Robert L. Keefe Sr.

Memorial services for Robert L. Keefe Sr., 76, Lawrence, were Sunday, July 22, at First Southern Baptist Church.

Mr. Keefe died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Hampstead, Md., the son of William Randolph Jr. and Isabelle Robertson Hanauer Keefe. He graduated from the University of Richmond. He was a resident of Lawrence since 1987.

Mr. Keefe served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a physicist for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, Hercules Inc., where he managed the Hazards Analysis Department. He retired in 1992. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

He married Elizabeth Nuckols on Sept. 6, 1952, in Cumberland, Md. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Peggy Ann Keefe, Richmond, Va., and Lorena Hajer and husband Rahman, Overland Park; two sons, Robert Keefe Jr. and Earl Randolph Keefe, both of Salt Lake City; and a granddaughter.
