L.A. Law couple’s book signing draws large crowd downtown
Cars filled the parking stalls along 83rd Street in De Soto Monday afternoon -- celebrities were in town.
Michael Tucker and his wife, Jill Eikenberry, both former stars of the 1980s hit television show "L.A. Law," were at Round Trip Imports signing Tucker's latest book "Living in a Foreign Language: A Memoir of Food, Wine and Love in Italy."
The book details the adventures that Tucker and Eikenberry had in Italy when vacationing in the countryside led to buying a home.
Rainy Day Books in Fairway set up the event to be at Round Trip Imports after owner Mary Lies volunteered her Italian antique store as the location.
Traditional Italian food also was prepared by Lies' husband, Tim Lies, and served to the more than 125 guests in attendance most of whom were not from De Soto.
Tucker said he was impressed with the charm of the city.
"I'll bet you that in two weeks from now that this is the most original and best put together book signing I've ever done," Tucker said.
