L.A. Law couple to have Round Trip book signing

July 12, 2007

Stars of the long-running former television show, L.A. Law will be in De Soto Monday at Round Trip Imports.

Michael Tucker and his wife, Jill Eikenberry will discuss Tucker's new book, "Living in a Foreign Language: A Memoir of Food, Wine and Love in Italy," at 1 p.m. The event is by reservation only and costs $24 per person, which includes the book, a discussion and food.

Round Trip Imports owner Mary Lies said the book is about the couple buying a house in Italy and the experiences they had while there.

"People who are interested in this book would probably be interested in travel," she said.

The store is hosting the book signing and discussion for Rainy Day Books. Round Trip Imports was chosen to host the event because of the store's business in buying and selling antique items from Italy, Lies said.

Lies' husband, Tim Lies, will prepare the food for the event and it will be Italian to reflect the theme.

A lot of the book is about good food, Lies said.

"I just got back from Italy and I was reading it there, and it was so true," she said. "Good food in Italy is not expensive. They just buy fresh food, and it's very simply made."

Last year when Round Trip Imports hosted a book signing about 125 people came. Lies said she hopes to have another big turnout Monday.

"They either are going to come because they were L.A. Law fans or because they really are interested in the book's subject."
