Not only does 2007 mark the 10th year for De Soto’s Relay For Life, but also the city’s 150th anniversary.Not only does 2007 mark the 10th year for De Soto’s Relay For Life, but also the city’s 150th anniversary. No set plans are made to tie the two events together, but Relay For Life volunteer Rita Jones has a few ideas on how to celebrate. One possibility is making an announcement before the start of the June 1 Relay that observes the two anniversaries. Another is to have a birthday cake at the Relay.
