Pool fees unchanged
Fees for the De Soto Aquatic Center will be the same in pool's second year as in its first.
The De Soto City Council agreed last Thursday to extend the fees another year. Family season passes will again be $95 for residents and $135 for non-residents, individual passes are $55 and $80, and senior passes are $20 and $35.
The De Soto City Council approved a reservation policy and fee structure for the city's two shelters, which De Soto recreation director Jay Garvin recommended
With the policy, the Miller Memorial Park shelter can be reserved from the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $25 or all day for $45. Fees for the new shelter by the De Soto Aquatic Center are $20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and $35 for the day.
As with Johnson County Park and Recreation District, the shelters can be used on a first-come, first-served when not reserved.
The council also awarded a contract to build a storage building for pool to Turner Inc. for $16,278.
