The De Soto boys basketball team rode into Prairie View High School with an eight-game losing streak. The Cats lost those games despite some players having big performances in that stretch, but rare was the night more than one De Soto player seemed to be on. Finally the Wildcats found that night.

Tall and slender, Jackie Goleman is simply graceful when she jumps over hurdles, leaps over a high jump bar or soars high above a volleyball net in search of a kill. Her 3-point shot form could use some work, however — not that the De Soto girls basketball team is complaining. Goleman hit the first 3-pointer of her high school career Tuesday, and that she could laugh about the opportunity afterward could only mean good things for the Wildcats. De Soto snapped a two-game skid and won only its third game of the new year, beating Frontier League opponent Prairie View, 53-38.
Rotary offering dinner theater

The De Soto Rotary will have a dinner theatre at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 and 17 at the De Soto Senior Center, 32905 W. 84th St. The Barnplayers will perform.

The De Soto Rotary Club is bringing a two-night performance of the Senior Barnplayers at the De Soto Senior Center. The troupe will perform Feb. 16 and 17 in an evening that will also include a spaghetti dinner. Dinner starts at 6 p.m.
