Christmas Eve service

December 20, 2007

Kaw Prairie Community Church will host four family Christmas Eve Barn Services this season.

The services will be held at Darrell Zimmerman's barn, located off the Kill Creek Road exit from Kansas Highway 10 in De Soto.

Services will be 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 24.

The services will feature an original family-oriented play "Meet the Flockers," with a live nativity, Christmas music, Holy Communion and battery-powered candles for singing "Silent night."

The Kaw Prairie Community Church meets regularly 9:30 a.m. Sundays at St. James Academy in Lenexa.

"We're giving up some comfort to have our Christmas Eve services at Zimmerman's Farm again this year, but nobody wants to miss it," said Pastor Dan McKnight. "This intimate setting can't be duplicated in a modern facility and people will leave feeling peace in their hearts for the true meaning of Christmas."

Hot beverages will be served. Visitors are encouraged to dress warmly.
