Willow Springs FCE
The Willow Springs FCE met April 20 at De Soto Baptist Church with Leona Robinson as hostess. The tables were decorated in a rock garden theme.
Dorothy Nalley gave the table grace.
The "pigs" guess gave Judy Hartshorn the one brought by Leota Fruit and Leota received the "pig" brought by Judy Hartshorn.
Roll call was given by answering "What You Got for Easter."
Total hours totaled 79 this month because of the public forum for school board and city council candidates that took place after the March meeting.
Dorothy Nalley read the minutes of the March meeting. She said she sent out a total of 14 invitations to the candidates for the public forum.
Leona Robinson gave the treasurer's report. She volunteered to make the punch for the May 18 birthday party at Hillside Village. The group will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the De Soto Baptist Church.
Leona Robinson gave the lesson on men's health, which covered many cancer concerns, heart, arthritis and diet.
No one was able to attend the spring tea April 19 at the Lenexa United Methodist Church. The district recognition day is May 10. The event is hosted by Shawnee County.
The county council meeting is at 1 p.m. May 21. Beverly Cunningham will present the lesson "Where in the World is Turku" at 2 p.m.
