Tennis squad again hot in Topeka
If only it didn't actually cost money to take the highway there, the De Soto tennis team might petition to play in Topeka a lot more.
As is, they'll have to settle for it being the site of the Class 4A state tennis tournament.
The boys squad again found success when visiting Kansas' capital city Monday, as the Cats blew through a quadrangular.
Three different De Soto pairings went undefeated against team's from Highland Park, Topeka West and Junction City.
Both singles players -- sophomore Matt Edwards and freshman Andrew Konetzni -- handled all comers in their brackets and each finished 3-0.
Edwards improved his season record to 6-1 while Konetzni improved to 5-2.
The No. 1 doubles team of Dan Hoschouer and Andy Edwards didn't find much trouble either, easily winning three matches to improve to 6-1 on the season.
"Everyone played great," coach Michael Sullivan said. "I don't even know if they had an official count, but we took first easily."
