Dvorak named engineer of the year
Kent Dvorak, P.E., of Terracon's Lenexa office and a De Soto resident, recently received the Eastern Chapter of the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers Engineer of the Year Award. Dvorak is now eligible at the state level to receive Kansas Engineer of the Year.
With the KSPE he served on the board of the Eastern Chapter and as president in 1994. Dvorak also received the Young Engineer of the Year award in 1989 and 1991. He has served as a state director of KSPE and on the state awards committee for three years, two years as chairman.
"Kent took on the position of KSPE awards chair with energy and drive, traits that are necessary to direct the important business of that committee. I congratulate him on being awarded the Eastern Chapter Engineer of the Year award," said the KSPE president, Chris Bohm, P.E., vice president of Ruggles and Bohm in Wichita.
Dvorak has been with Terracon since 1982. He started as a field engineer and worked his way up to assistant department manager, department manager of construction services and, currently, the division business development manager for the Lenexa office. He has been a member of the KSPE, American Society of Civil Engineers, Engineer's Club, Society of American Military Engineers, International Code Council and National Society of Professional Engineers.
