Fabric artist to speak at Johnson County museum
The Johnson County Museum of History will have a "Fantastic Fabrics" presentation at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the museum, 6305 Lackman Road, Shawnee.
Nationally-known fabric artist and storyteller Sonie Ruffin will share fabric and quilt designs, along with engaging and inspirational stories, in this one-hour program.
Ruffin's program includes a presentation of her quilt and fabric designs, including her new line "My African Village." Samples of fabrics will be available for participants to work with during the program.
"Fantastic Fabrics" is the last in a series of programs presented in conjunction with the "Inspired Threads: African American Quilts" exhibit.
Admission is free.
The exhibit, featuring quilts made by metropolitan area quilters, will be on view through Dec. 31.
