Kings to celebrate 50th
Tom and Alyce King, De Soto, will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman's Kill Creek Farm.
Tom King and Alyce Studer married May 12, 1956, at St. Augustine Church near Sabetha.
Tom served in the United States Air Force for four years. He retired from Western Electric after 29 years and was a custodian for De Soto USD 232 for 10 years. He retired in 1997.
Alyce worked for the food service department at De Soto USD 232 for 27 years, retiring in 1997.
The couple's children are Ron and Lisa, Lawrence; Mike, Omaha; Darrell, De Soto; Ken and Linda, Olathe; and Gene and Sarah, Lenexa. They have four granddaughters and four grandsons.
