Elizabeth E. Simmons
Services for Elizabeth "Liz" Ellen McAninch Simmons, 77, De Soto, were Tuesday, March 14, at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto. She was cremated.
Mrs. Simmons died Friday, March 10, 2006.
She was born Oct. 15, 1928, in La Cygne, the daughter of Gus and Helen McAninch.
She graduated from Turner High School in 1946 and attended Kansas City Junior College.
Mrs. Simmons was employed by General Motors from 1950 to 1955. She was a member of the De Soto Pleasant Hour Club.
She married Roger Simmons on Sept. 25, 1953, at the Linwood Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Michele Fuston, Liberty, Mo.; and Teresa Winston, Stilwell; two sons, Craig Simmons, Lenexa; and David Simmons, Shawnee; two brothers, William McAninch, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and Richard McAninch, De Soto; three sisters, Marjorie Cates, Henderson, Nev.; Berniece Burnett and Rose Masden, both of Kansas City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
