Exchange program offered

July 20, 2006

Rotary club members of northeast Kansas District 5710 are seeking four professionals to visit India in January 2007 as part of the Group Study Exchange program of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
For four weeks, teams of young professionals from two different countries experience the way of life, customs and vocational practices of another country while sharing information about their homeland.
The purpose of the program is to promote international understanding and goodwill through personal connection. While abroad, team members stay in Rotarians' homes and have the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts. They also give presentations to Rotary clubs and other groups about their home country.
The Rotary Foundation pays for round-trip airfare and Rotary club members in the host country provide meals, lodging and group travel in their district. Team members pay for personal and incidental expenses.
Young adults between the ages of 25 and 40 who are interested in applying should be employed full-time in a business or profession. Applicants must live or be employed in northeast Kansas.
Applications are due Aug. 5.
For an application, call District 5710 GSE co-chairwoman Terrie R. McCants at (785) 532-6239 or e-mail terrie@ksu.edu or call De Soto Rotary Club president Diana Zwahlen at (913) 638-8898 or e-mail aillusions@kc.rr.com.
