Two arrested on drug charges
Johnson County sheriff's officers served a search warrant Aug. 24 on a home in Clearview City southwest of De Soto and arrested two area men on drug-related charges, said Master Deputy Tom Erickson, a sheriff spokesman.
After performing surveillance, officers stormed the house and took four people into custody. Two were later released, Erickson said. James Zimmerman, 45, De Soto, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to sell methamphetamine, having no drug tax stamp and possession of marijuana, Erickson said.
Johnny Owens, 33, Tonganoxie, was arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. Officers did not find evidence of a meth lab inside the residence, Erickson said.
