Maxine E. Spalding
Graveside services for Maxine E. Spalding, 97, Olathe, were Saturday, June 4, at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Spalding died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at CLC of Olathe Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 15, 1907, in Waverly, the daughter of Frank C. Wilson and Lena Mason Wilson.
She attended Central grade school and graduated from Olathe High School in 1926.
Mrs. Spalding worked for years for Johnson County and the Hercules Powder Plant in De Soto.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Rebecca Lodge.
She married Charles Hutchings June 13, 1929 in Kansas City, Kan. She later married Charles Spalding. He died May 20, 1988.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Kristine Hutchings, Robin Hutchings and Charles Hutchings, all of California; five great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
A brother, Richard C. Wilson, and a sister, Amelita McConnell, preceded her in death.
McGilley and Frye Funeral Home in Olathe was in charge of arrangements.
