Graveside inurnment for Jessie Maine McClacherty, 73, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. McClacherty died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at her home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Topeka, the daughter of John Addison and Naomi Holt Helfer. She graduated from Holton High School in 1949. She moved to Lawrence from Manhattan in 1959.
Mrs. McClacherty was a homemaker and formerly worked at Sunflower Ordnance Plant, Jayhawk Trophy, and the GSP and Corbin scholarship residence halls at Kansas University. She was a member of Mount Oread Aerie 309, and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lawrence and Manhattan.
She married John Wesley McClacherty on June 1, 1948. He died April 14, 1992.
Survivors include three daughters, Pat Cofer, Lawrence, Sue McClacherty, Baldwin City, and Kelly McClacherty, Corona, Calif.; a son, John McClacherty, North Olmsted, Ohio; a brother, Larry Helfer, Alton, Mo.; a sister, Jackie Mitchell, Carbondale; and six grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County or Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
