Funeral services for Leslie Copeland, 95, Garnett, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Garnett, with the Rev. Wayne Fink officiating. Burial will be at Garnett Cemetery, Garnett.
Mrs. Copeland died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett.
She was born Oct. 25, 1908, in Windsor, Mo., the daughter of Leslie and Myrtle (Stratton) Gray. She graduated from Windsor (Mo.) High School.
She attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Mo., and taught for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. She lived in Stotesbury, Mo., Amsterdam, Mo., and Colony, before moving to Garnett in 1941. She and her husband also spent winters in Dundee, Fla.
Mrs. Copeland was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garnett where she was involved in Bible study groups and ABW women's circles. She also taught and helped with Sunday School and Vacation Church School classes.
She married Marshall E. Copeland on Aug. 3, 1931, in Windsor. He died in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Copeland, De Soto, and Rodney Copeland, Colchester, Vt.; a sister, Mildred Mayfield, Platte City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Shirley Fooshee, preceded her in death in December 2003. Three brothers and a sister also died earlier.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Garnett.
