Elizabeth “Arlene” Ross
Services for Elizabeth "Arlene" Ross, 88, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute.
Mrs. Ross died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement community.
She was born March 31, 1915, in Chanute, the daughter of William David and Mary (Vanderpool) Wilson.
Mrs. Ross was a medical office assistant at Watkins Memorial Hospital at Kansas University for 19 years. She worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant during World War II. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She married Clinton Henry Ross on April 8, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan. He died March 30, 1973. A Daughter, Mary Katherine Ackerman, died in December 1994.
Survivors include a son, Clinton William "Bill" Ross, Emporia; two granddaughters; and a great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to the church or KU Alumni Athletic Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
