Hillary Schmidt, De Soto, beat Friday’s triple-digit heat at the Kill Creek Regional Park’s swimming beach. The park proved more durable than the sand castle Schmidt built,surviving possible closing when the Johnson County Commission decided to look elsewhere for budget savings. The beach is open to swimming Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
District upgrades parent/teacher communications

ParentConnect” will be installed in all district middle schools and high schools for the 2003-2004 school year, Assistant Director of Technology Christy Ziegler told the USD 232 Board of Education Monday. The program allows parents to track and monitor their child’s grades, attendance and health reports.
