Harold “Lloyd” Dodd
Mass of Christian Burial for Harold "Lloyd" Dodd, 73, De Soto will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Leavenworth. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leavenworth.
Mr. Dodd died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1929, in Leavenworth, the son of Theodore and Anna Dodd.
Mr. Dodd retired from Valley Feed and Grain, Bonner Springs, where he worked for 10 years. He had also worked as a millwright and a supervisor for Bay State Milling Company of Leavenworth for more than 35 years.
He was a past member of the St. Casimir Catholic Church and a member of the Eagles. He played softball and bowled for the Bay State teams. He was formerly the lead singer and guitar player for the Double Eagle Band.
He married Bernice Harris Nov. 13, 1948, at the St. Joseph of the Valley Catholic Church, Easton. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Gary Dodd, Chester, Va., and Paul Dodd, Leavenworth; a daughter, Karen McDonald, De Soto; five sisters, Florence Haling, Jeanette Zielinski, Margaret Long, Alice Schneider and Delores Urban, all of Leavenworth; two brothers, Raymond Dodd, Easton and Donald Dodd, Ellsworth; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, David Dodd, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart and Lung associations, sent in care of Belden Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels, Leavenworth.
