Mill Valley gets big win
Mill Valley High School continued its magical football season with a 36-28 win over Huron League champion Bishop Ward 36-28 Oct. 19 in Kansas City, Kan.
The Jaguars (7-0) fell behind early but led the Cyclones (5-2) 28-21 at halftime.
"Ward had a really good offense and some really good team speed," Mill Valley coach George Radell said. "It was a tough game. It came down to who had the ball last."
Mill Valley scored with 30 seconds left in the game, breaking a 28-28 tie. Despite little scoring in the second half, Radell said there was still plenty of offense.
"It was an offensive football game and both teams had a bunch of yards," he said.
The Jaguars face De Soto (3-4) Friday at De Soto District Stadium before travelling to Eudora (6-1) in the season finale.
