My passion is college sports, especially those involving my alma mater. I realize the absurdity of closely identifying with teams made up of individuals who have little or nothing in common with me. Any commonality we share for having spent time on the same Kansas Flint Hills acreage diminishes with each passing year.

Imminent transfer unlikely, but effort remains worthwhile

Mayor Dave Anderson has convinced the De Soto City Council to develop a business plan for the redevelopment of the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. Obviously, such a plan would only be of value if the federal government transfers the plant, and Anderson said he was pursuing an aggressive effort to secure the plant’s transfer by mid-January 2003.
