Services for Andrew Jay Meyer, 28, Lawrence, will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. A funeral Mass will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Baileyville.

Mr. Meyer died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.

He was born Sept. 25, 1973, in Ottawa, the son of Gary and Nancy (Nuzum) Meyer. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1993. He lived in Ottawa until July 1995. He had lived in De Soto the past six years and had recently moved to Lawrence.

Mr. Meyer had worked at Green Expectations Landscaping, Killough Quarries, R. D. Johnson Excavating Co., Asphalt Improvement, and recently, Midwest Kenworth, Olathe.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa.

Survivors include his parents, of Lawrence and Baxter Springs; a sister, Kelly Meyer, Olathe; a brother, Nick Meyer, Manhattan; and his grandmother, Mildred Meyer, Seneca.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday until the service hour Friday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation or to an education fund for his siblings, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
