Joseph P. Flaher
Memorial services for Joseph Paul Flaherty, 47, De Soto, were Saturday, May 26, at Lake Shawnee Yacht Club, Topeka, with military services by U.S. Army Funeral Detail of Fort Riley. He was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Massachusetts.
Mr. Flaherty died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 22, 1954, in South Boston, Mass., the son of Daniel and Florence (Kine) Flaherty. He attended school in Boston. He lived in Topeka for many years before moving to De Soto in 2000.
Mr. Flaherty served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1978, and worked as a union electrician in the Kansas City and Topeka areas. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 226, Topeka.
Survivors include a brother, Danny Flaherty, Hingham, Mass.; and a companion, Pamela K. Halleron, Topeka.
The family suggests memorials to Homeless Veterans of America or the veterans' organization of the donor's choice, sent in care of Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas, Topeka 66608.
