Dog-gone blues

Doc and Bruties hosted The Dogs Days of Summer Blues and Barbecue Saturday afternoon on the street outside their downtown restaurant..

The show was co-sponsored by local art gallery Artistic Print and Illusions

Left, the blues band Kawdaddies kept he crowd entertained throughout the afternoon as temperatures neared the 100-degree mark.

Below, DeSoto High School football player David Davis. right, and assistant football coach Toby Weir, keep people cool by serving up shaved ice. Doc and Bruties owners donated the use of the machine to the football team so they could raise money for the coming year.

Local artist Larry Inman works on a wood carving during the show and art vendor Don Pierce sits among the pieces of art he was selling.
