Throughout the year, Johnson County Park & Recreation District park maintenance staff trim branches and remove dead trees from District parks. A single chance to purchase some of the resulting firewood will be offered when an annual Firewood Sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or until the wood supply is exhausted) Dec. 4, in The Theatre in the Park Parking Lot, 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee. Firewood will be sold one a first come/first served basis and no delivery will be available. The cost will be $60 per half cord for mixed hardwood.
